Brief physical description of character: Alexander is the poster child for what everyone hopes for when they adopt a little kid. From a mildly awkward youth he's managed to fill out decently. He's not bulky by any means, but his life has been active enough that what muscle he does have, is well defined. Topping off at 5'10" (plus another quarter inch that he tends to not let people forget) the Alpha lion seems taller than he is, though its neither tall shoes of fluffy hair that gives off the illusion; there's just enough attitude and presence to him that he seems to take up more space than he really does. He shaves almost religiously every morning, thinking that he looks like a hobo if he starts getting scruffy. Style wise, he wears whatever tends to be closest to hand, running high on jeans and tees.

His lifestyle of choice has left its mark in little ways on Alexander in the form of scars. His knuckles are crisscrossed with pale lines, though they are old and faded to almost nothing. Several marks ghost along his ribs, trophies proving that he was either better than the other guy with a knife or was just smart enough to be the one that brought a gun to a knife fight. The rest of his scars are rather mundane; a puncture on one knee from running into an antenna as a child being just one of them. Mundane as they are, if asked he tends to make the stories much more interesting since saying they're from not being taken care of just isn't as interesting.

Eyes are a nondescript shade of blue that seem to lean towards gray while his hair is a dark brunette with some underlying copper tones. Call him a ginger though and he might smack you. He's good looking and attractive enough that he's never suffered from being alone if he didn't feel like it. And while he possesses the looks, he simply shrugs it off as lucky genetics and pays hardly any mind to it at all.

As a lion he's a huge beast, short fur an almost uniform fawn color. The insides of his legs sport ghosts of spots near huge paws. His mane is, like any respectable lion, a thick mass of fur that frames his head and spills well down back and shoulders, sweeping across the massive chest. It is several shades darker than the rest of his pelt, looking nearly black.

Personality of character: (Don't hesitate to go into detail) Alexander is, for the most part, laid back. Most of life doesn't bother him since, in his mind, things could always just be worse. Though it could be argued that he doesn't get ruffled simply because he's too busy figuring out how to make things work in his favor. Life as a career criminal seemingly hasn't jaded him in the slightest. He's neither overbearingly arrogant nor pessimistic. As far as he's concerned, things are what things are and there's no use getting a coronary over stuff you can't change. Extroverted and social he's happiest in the thick of things, be it a social dinner or a fight. But his life has made it hard for him to look out for anyone but himself. Other people are great and he likes them just fine, but the second shit hits the fan he's only thinking of looking out for himself. It probably comes from years of switching between homes as a child, bouncing around from one family to the next without every getting much time to ever feel at home.

All said and done though he's a pretty cheerful guy, even if he has a streak of jackassery and can have as much discipline as a teenager at times.

Weaknesses of character: Stock lycanthrope weaknesses. Largely self serving. Tends be be flippant in regards to legalities and occasionaly, other people's feelings. Has never had a real job in his life and wouldn't even know how to get or hold one. Spends money like its going out of style. Can be a real asshole at times. Terrible cook. One hell of a procrastinator.

History of character: (This should be of moderate length) The first thing that usually comes up when he starts talking about his past, is that his mother was a whore. No, really. He means it quite literally. 'Bambi' as he knew her at the time, carted her son around while she worked, leaving him in an adjoining room while she handled 'business'. Suffice to say, this has completely ruined the Disney movie for him for life. Eventually, long after he started sneaking into rooms and rifling through wallets while his mother and clients were busy, the proud State of New York realized some coked out whore was dragging a kid around with her and decided that probably wasn't the best idea. So Alexander was taken in and plopped into the foster system.

Not that he really ever stayed there. The structure and Cleaver lifestyle just seemed too at odds to his basic nature and the boy would disappear from every home he was put into. Berber carpeting, clean drapes and public school were far too foreign for Alexander to grasp. So he went back to what he knew. It started with picking pockets and he did well enough that he never really had to consider the offers he got from older men in cars. Eventually he ended up running errands for the right people and started making quasi friends in those circles.

He never got really deep into the criminal, seedy underbelly of anything, but he was close enough to start making some damn good money while still being able to keep up a super nice front. Now, you spend enough time with the right people in the right circles, and eventually you both end up getting shot at while hunkering around a corner, praying to whatever god you think is there. Luckily for Alexander, his buddy at the time was a lycanthrope, which was the only thing that saved their lives. It also outed the other. Which wasn't the best thing for someone that wanted to keep things secret, especially when it was known that Alexander was more than happy to sell information. Ever the opportunist, Alexander promised not to spill the secret as long as his friend infected him.

It really seemed like a win-win situation to the teen. He gets tougher, harder to kill and gets to be wicked fucking awesome. With his friend around to help make sure the newly infected lion didn't lose his shit all over Central Park and enough fringe violence to keep his inner beast happy as a cat in cream, it was only a handful of years before Alexander was in control of himself. Which was great timing, since the friendship the two had was quickly unraveling under the pressure of their beasts butting their heads together for six years. Never one for long drawn out conflict, the younger of the two lions went his own way before things got messy.

Months on his own had him convinced that he needed to find a pride, or at least someone else that fuzzed out to hang out with. No one in New York would take him in, not wanting another male joining in and screwing with their dynamic or (more importantly) making a move to be Rex to have the females for himself. Eventually he found a pride willing to take him, mostly because the Rex was more than happy to take Alexander's money. Every month. So after going through all the legal steps to become a Canadian citizen he moved out to Terrace Bay. His eight years spent with the pride really weren't that bad, all things considered. Sure the young lion was forced to funnel most of his income to the Rex and was kept on the shortest leash in his life, but it could have been worse.

Of course all things change eventually. The Rex was getting older, more complacent and all the while the other males in the pride were growing more daring. The others started testing their boundaries by balking at orders, stopping just short of outright defying the Rex. Alexander on the other hand went another rout that just so happened to end at the Regina's bed. Of course the Rex found out almost immediately and beat the ever loving shit out of the other lion, leaving Alexander more shades of purple and blue than he thought existed. Battered and broken, he was dragged to his car and dropped in front of it, told that if he could get in and leave under his own power that he would be allowed to leave alive.

And he's just dickish enough to pull it off.

After spending some time out in the woods, shifting and eating to heal the damage, he landed himself in Thunder Bay. The city was far enough away for some breathing room and still close enough that he could pop back to Terrace Bay if he ever thought he had a good shot at paying back the Rex. But the idea of revenge eventually fizzled, more to his inability to really care about it than anything else. Still, he's got a nice house to himself, work is going well and now he's just trying to ignore that feeling he got years ago in New York.

He's had several job in his life, none of which are anything that he would pay taxes on or even have recorded. He's a petty criminal jack of all trades and rather content with that life. After all, it's gotten him way further than he started out.

Just wanted some clarification before I approved this application. How long would you say he was with his friend before they went their separate ways? This is going to go a long way in determining your power level and abilities.

Alright as there is no further documentation in your application, I am going to ask for changes and understandings on a few more things.

Out of the 14 years he was with his fried for 6 from the onset of infection. This has him alone for 8. While it is possible to grow to be an Alpha in 6 years, provided his friend was an Alpha... He has been without for long enough that his power and abilities would be slipping. He would not have as much control over aspects concerning his beast as he would like.

Specific examples being: Shielding would be off, until he finds himself with lycanthropes. While normally it might be a high level shielding, I can see it cracking under the pressure of being alone. Possibly barely scraping by when it comes to non-shifters, and I would like to see evidence of this within your roleplays.

Also, controlling shifting in others would be a tentative thing. With no exposure, he can throw his power at people all he wants but they are going to look at him like a stray. There is strength in groups and that is why lycanthropes belong within them. Consequences if they have been without.

I also suspect that it might be very hard to control the amount of energy he produces around another Alpha, same species or other. The big feral cat might not back down despite any better judgment...



These can all be gained back or restored to full strength over time. My suggestion being, find some lions or anyone really to satisfy the beast and the craving for touch.
